Inside the cabin

Kiss the Clouds sits on a cul-de-sac in the Preserve Resort that looks out over Wears Valley. Stand anywhere on the court and you feel like you are on top of the mountain. Inside, floor-to-ceiling glass carries that view through almost every room.

You enter through the full galley kitchen: stainless appliances, cement tile floors and everything you need to cook except the food and spices. It opens to a dining room with a table for six plus two stools, and an open main level with hardwood floors, an electric stone fireplace and a king master suite with its own bath.

Upstairs is a huge open loft bedroom and game room under vaulted cathedral ceilings, with a pool table, a full bath with a tile shower and jetted tub, and doors to the back deck and its hot tub. A small kids’ sleeping loft, reached by ladder, gives children their own space. Four decks in all, and in our opinion some of the best views in the Great Smoky Mountains.

From your hosts

My husband is the type who likes to relax on vacation. I like to conquer one. We have found this to be our perfect compromise: I do not mind relaxing if it means sitting on the deck with those views.

Four-wheel drive or chains are required in snow and ice. The last three miles to the Preserve wind up and down; all roads are paved.
Pets are welcome. The pet fee is per pet, per stay, so tell us how many are coming.
Parking out front fits three cars.
The outdoor fireplace at the Preserve pavilion is open to you (bring your own wood) as long as no wedding is under way. We do not belong to the Preserve amenities center.
The seasonal outdoor pool is at Honeysuckle campground, at Happy Hollow Road and Wears Valley Road, about 3.5 miles away. Admission and the fishing pond are included with your stay.
Distances: 13.3 miles to The Island in Pigeon Forge, 14.2 to the Hollywood Wax Museum, 14.6 to the Titanic Museum, 17.6 to Dollywood, 21.9 to the Gatlinburg aquarium, 22.2 to the SkyLift. Double the mileage for a rough drive time in minutes.
There is an additional charge for any adult beyond four.
