Inside the cabin

Our Smoky Mountain View is a modern log home in Legacy Mountain Resort, the first house on its street, with bedroom windows that face east. Wherever you sleep, you wake to the sunrise over Mt. LeConte.

The main level is open: a full galley kitchen with stainless appliances and cement tile floors, a dining table for six, hardwood floors and an electric stacked-stone fireplace for cold winter nights. The furniture is log style, with personal touches in every corner. The master suite on this floor has its own bath and the same view.

Upstairs, a huge open loft bedroom and game room has a king bed, a full bath with a jetted tub, floor-to-ceiling glass and a door to the deck with the hot tub. The kids get their own small sleeping loft up a ladder, and a video game corner to unwind in after the day.

From your hosts

When we were looking for our own home away from home, we found many resorts with frightening roads. Legacy Mountain is not one of them. The roads are wide, paved and well maintained, climbing in a zig-zag of gentle switchbacks with no long, steep grades.

The cabin sleeps up to four adults and four children, seven people in all.
Pets are considered. There is a one-time pet fee plus tax, per pet, per stay.
Parking fits two large cars or three small ones.
There is no fire pit at the cabin. Bring your own wood and use the fireplace at the resort amenities center, which also has a workout room.
About two and a half steps lead into the cabin. Once inside, everything you need is on one level except the hot tub.
There is an additional charge for any adult beyond four.
